Sound Minds: An Evening of Jazz and Mind-Reading
Join us Friday, September 11, 2026, for Sound Minds: An Evening of Jazz and Mind-Reading, a unique live performance at The Yard on John Coltrane Street in Philadelphia.
Against the backdrop of one of Philadelphia’s most important jazz landmarks, Sound Minds brings together live jazz and psychological entertainment for an intimate outdoor evening of music, mystery, and astonishment. Mentalist and bassist Nicholas Gentry leads a jazz trio through a program inspired by the classic jazz tradition, then turns his attention from music to the mysteries of the human mind with demonstrations of mind-reading, intuition, influence, and impossible prediction.
The evening is presented in memory of the victims of September 11, 2001, marking the 25th anniversary with a gathering centered on music, community, and shared experience.
Sound Minds takes place at The Yard, an outdoor performance space on John Coltrane Street in Strawberry Mansion, one of Philadelphia’s most storied jazz neighborhoods.
