Gentry’s Video Archive

Most of what is below is not a promotional reel. It is a camera pointed at rooms while the work was happening, which is a harder thing to fake and a more useful thing to watch.

What is in this archive?

A TEDx talk. A keynote demo reel and a corporate event reel. Trade show booth footage, including ONUG in Manhattan, where he worked booth #52 for Lightyear, and Caesars Forum in Las Vegas for Port.io. An evening at the Society for Vascular Medicine. Team building and communication training. Cognitive analysis, which is the one-on-one version of the same method. The Gentry Band, which is live jazz with mentalism inside it. And a reel of audience reactions, which is the only one where the camera is pointed at the room instead of the stage.

Which video should a corporate planner watch first?

The keynote demo reel if the booking is a general session. The trade show footage if it is a booth, because it shows the actual mechanics: stopping traffic, holding a stranger long enough to matter, and handing them to a rep. The audience reactions reel if the real question is whether a room of working adults engages with this or folds their arms.

What is the TEDx talk about?

It is called Faking It IS Making It. It is about the distance between competence and the appearance of it, which turns out to be a subject with commercial applications.
